Laptop Donation to Matthew Henson Community (Phoenix) Students

Through a partnership with the community outreach project of New Home Baptist Church, Laptops 4 Learning (L4L) has provided ninety-eight (98) students in the Matthew Henson community with their own personal laptops. This initiative was made possible by the dedication of New Home Baptist members who volunteered to register and distribute laptops to the students. Upholding the belief that no student should be deprived of a laptop due to financial constraints, L4L furnished these families with laptops free of charge. We extend our gratitude to the generous financial contributions from BD Peripheral Intervention’s African Americans at BD group, Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center, and NHBC members, as well as private donors who recognized the importance of supporting these students in their educational journey. Providing families with multiple children with this invaluable educational tool is particularly gratifying.

Greg Powell, Executive Director of L4L, emphasized the organization's commitment to leveling the educational playing field for students facing challenges due to lack of access to digital technology at home. With the support and guidance of the Board members, L4L has, over the past six years, supplied over 4,500 students ranging from pre-K to college, including adults returning to education, with high-quality, affordable laptops. Personal access to a laptop is undeniably essential for a student's success in today's technology-driven world.
